Build: Rt/N Nightfall minion bomber
Profession: Ritualist/Necromancer
Name: Reclaiming Bomber
Type: General PvE. Heavily modified explosive minion bomber.
Category: Damage/Meatshield/Healing
Attributes:
12 + 3 + 1 Spawning
12 Death
3 Restoration
Skills Set:
Animate Bone Minions
Animate Shambling Horror
Reclaim Essence {Nightfall Elite}
Death Nova
Spirit's Gift
Explosive Growth
Blood of the Master
Optional (Res such as Flesh of my Flesh or Lively was Naomei is recommended)
Options: Res spell such as Flesh of my Flesh or Lively was Naomei is recommended. Other options include rotting flesh, capture signet or another direct damage spell. Taste of Death is another good option.
Usage: Enter battle with spirit's gift and explosive growth cast. Summon minions or horror as available. Enchant minion or horror with death nova. Reclaim energy from the minion once it has engaged the enemy with Reclaim essence. Cast death nova onto Jagged Horror if necessary and repeat. Spirit's Gift will heal and remove conditions from the party and minions twice when minions are summoned, once when shambling horrors are summoned and once again when jagged horrors spawn.
Notes: I have tried a number of different options for minion healing between battles, and a number of options for targetted destruction of minions, such as Taste of Death, and Feast for the dead, but the best options for this remain Blood of the Master for healing (all minions, for a big chunk of health) and Reclaim Essence is perfect for regaining energy and terminating a Death Nova enchanted minion at the right time. Feast for the Dead does not destroy target minion as stated, it destroys a random minion in the area, which is unsuitable for minion bombing.

I hope you enjoy it.
Since Boon was toned down lately Reclaim Essence looks like the perfect replacement... and spirit's gift it just awesome. IMO Spirit's gift should be the elite and Reclaim essence the non-elite.

I haven't seen Reclaim Essence yet, where do you cap it? My rit is up to Dasha Vestibule, but I never saw the skill beforehand.

Whats the benefit of MB on a Rit primary? Minions are simple a means to do damage through Nova and Putrid Flesh, you don't need them to last, you need them to die, Spawning becomes useless. And Jagged Bones MB is far, far superior...

^ More damage from explosive growth.
It remains to be seen whether you would get more damage from 16 Spawn or 16 Death. What I really miss on a Rit is Soul Reaping.
To the OP. You should try jagged bones in your build. It might trigger Explosive Growth as well.

Jagged bones is ok, but you lose the targetted destruction of minions and energy mangement of reclaim essesnce, which means you have to go back to boon of creation.
I love spirit's gift, and casting 3 enchantments every 60 seconds tends to get tedious.
Also spirit's gift and reclaim essence are Spawning, so 16 in that means more healing and energy.
The increased health from spawning to minions isn't a problem when level 10 minions are facing level 24 baddies.

Very true, but you'd have Boon triggering twice when you used Minions and twice again (theoretically) when you killed of a shambling horror enchanted with Jagged Bones.

Ok, it looks like there's an argument regarding this style of build that goes in 2 directions. For the sake of argument, let's face them off and see what comes out.
Assume 16 spawning and 12 death in both cases. If someone has a good Necro minion bomber build for comparrison, feel free to chime in.
Build 1.
Animate Bone Minions (ABM)
Animate Shambling Horror (ASH)
Reclaim Essence (RE) {Nightfall Elite}
Death Nova (DN)
Spirit's Gift (SG)
Explosive Growth (EG)
Blood of the Master (BotM)
Flesh of my flesh (FomF)
Build 2.
Animate Bone Minions
Animate Shambling Horror
Jagged Bones (JB) {Nightfall Elite}
Death Nova
Spirit's Gift
Explosive Growth
Boon of Creation (BoC)
Blood of the Master
Flesh of my flesh
(this is 9 skills, one would have to go, probably FomF. It is listed with the others for comparrison.)
Ok, the issues at hand are: Energy management, damage, healing, condition removal, targetted destruction of minions, and whatever else I have forgotten.
The premise with build 1 is that you go into battle with SG and EG, summon a horror or pair of minions, cast death nova on it, let it engage in melee and then kill it off and reclaim a tub of energy with RE.
Build 2 works in a similar way, except that 3 enchantments must be cast to be as effective, SG, EG and BoC. When a minion is summoned, energy regeneration from BoC is immediate, rather than reclaiming it directly from RE. Assuming that you get 2 doses of energy from BoC, regardless of whether you use minions or horrors, you will get 12 energy, where as you get 21 from 16 spawning RE. You only get 16 energy net from it, because although you gain 21, it costs 5, but BoC costs 10 too, so there's some balance there. Using JB, you will get 18 energy from a shambling horror, 6 on birth, and 12 from when 2 jagged horrors are born from JB, at an additional cost of 5 for JB.
I would also add, that running this build with just ASH and no ABM is suicide, with ASH's huge recycle time. If you run ABM and no ASH, then you don't get 2 jagged horrors from one shambling horror. That might be ok, because on one hand with ASH only, you could cast DN+JB on shambling horror, wait for it to die, DN both the jagged horrors, wait for them to die, then summon a new shambling horror. On the other hand, with just ABM, you summon 2 bone minions, cast JG+DN on each and repeat as necessary.
There is also no targetted minion destruction in this build, so you would have to drop FomF or SG for Taste of Death or something to directly manage minion destruction.
Also, there is the additional question of enchantment management. If you face anything that strips enchantments, your energy management goes out the window. The down time of BoC is 45, half that with a lucky half cast staff. RE has a recycle time of 5 seconds and produces more energy.
Chime in, please.

I guess this build isn't so bad after all.

Given the complete lack of critisism, contructive or otherwise, I'm going to assume no one has any further debate on the matter.
Enjoy the build.

Probably not a bad build, but you would be better off with signet of lost souls for your energy management and taste of death for your targetted minion destruction if you are running necromancer primary. Besides, as a necro primary running 12 soul reaping your energy management won't be problem.
